Elder Law College, LLC (“Elder Law College,” “ELC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our members, program participants, website visitors, and others who interact with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information through our website at elderlawcollege.com.

Information We Collect

  • Information you provide directly. We collect information you voluntarily provide, such as when you register for a program, request information, create or update a member profile, make a purchase, or contact us. This may include your name, title, organization, law school and graduation year, Bar status, email address, telephone number, mailing address, and the contents of your communications. Payment information is collected and processed by an authorized third-party provider, and we do not store full payment card details on our systems.
  • Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, general location, browser type, operating system, device type, and pages viewed, including through cookies and similar technologies.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • respond to inquiries and provide the programs, services, and information you request;
  • administer memberships, events, and the ELC Member Portal;
  • communicate with you about programs, events, services, and resources;
  • process payments and maintain records;
  • operate, secure, and improve our website and services; and
  • detect and prevent fraud and comply with applicable law.

Text Messaging (SMS) and Your Consent

If you provide your telephone number and opt in to receive text messages from Elder Law College, you consent to receive SMS messages at that number. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text messaging services that help us deliver the messages. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own marketing without your consent. We may share information:

  • with service providers and partner organizations that perform services on our behalf, such as event management, payment processing, email delivery, and software services, and that are required to protect the information;
  • with partner organizations where you have authorized us to do so, for example to verify membership status for a member benefit; and
  • when required by law, or to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or safety issues.

Text messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from sharing, as stated above.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to support functionality and to understand how the site is used, including through analytics tools such as Google Analytics. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, although some features may not function properly as a result. Our site is not configured to respond to “do not track” signals.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. No system can guarantee absolute security. If we discover a data security incident affecting personal information, we will notify affected individuals to the extent required by law.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to meet our legitimate organizational needs, or as required by law.

Your Choices and Rights

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages or by contacting us. To stop receiving text messages, reply STOP to any message. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable law.

Children’s Privacy

Our website and services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on our website with a new effective date.
